Naturopathic Medicine is a distinct form of medicine that addresses the root cause of a health disorder or disease.
Naturopathic Doctors (ND's) use natural therapies to enhance and promote the natural healing capabilities of the body so it can heal itself without worrying about the common side effects of medications. The goal of naturopathic treatment is to promote wellness and prevent disease.
NDs obtain comprehensive and rigorous training in an educational structure similar to that of medical doctors. NDs require three years of pre-med postsecondary education, plus four years of full-time study at an approved college of Naturopathic Medicine. Naturopathic Doctors are highly educated primary care providers who integrate standard medical diagnostics with a broad range of natural therapies. .
Naturopathic care provided by a licensed ND will promote general well being and may avoid the use of further medications. Natural alternative treatments are safe and effective. Naturopathic Doctors take the time to listen to their patient's health concerns.
Your first visit with your naturopathic doctor will consist of a 60 minute appointment where you can expect a thorough intake of your health concerns and a focused physical exam. An individualized treatment plan will be prescribed and re-visited in about 4 weeks time. ND's use evidence based research to assess and treat each individual’s health needs.
